Application:

• It is used to measure the water vapour permeability of plastic films, composite films, sheets used for packaging, and other materials used in medical packaging and in the construction industry.

Principle:

Water vapour transmission rate is used to measure the permeation of water vapour through a film. It is done by generating a constant humidity difference between the two sides of the test specimen while maintaining a constant temperature. This allows the water vapour to transmit to the dry side and by measuring the weight at regular intervals, the rate of water vapour transmission can be obtained.
